I was so thrilled when we were gifted a full year of science curriculum for review. When we received Science ShepherdIntroductory Science – Level B it was a blessing in disguise. See, I always have the best of intentions when it comes to teaching science in our homeschool. It has been difficult to find a curriculum that offers everything we like. Science Shepherd is the best of all worlds for us. They offer online videos to watch, a physical workbook to be filled out, and hands-on activities.

This Complete Homeschool Science Curriculum has the best of all science learning combined. There are online video lessons, and consumable Student Workbook, a simple Answer Key, and hands-on activities.

In case you may not know this about our homeschool, we are very much “hands-on” homescoolers. It is important to me that our children learn by putting their hands on things so that they will remember what it is they are learning. That they are not just reading text and answering questions that will soon be forgotten in 6 months. This is just one of the many reasons I was drawn to Science Shepherd. Watching a video is part of each daily lesson. Think back to when you were in school, wasn’t it just the best day ever when you saw the teacher wheel the TV cart out? You knew that your lesson for the day was coming in the form of a video and that you didn’t have to just sit and read text and fill out a workbook.

Homeschool Science Curriculum. Both an online and a consumable student workbook.

Here is just a sample of the topics that are covered in the Introductory Science – Level B: Science Skills & Tools, Meteorology, Geology, Oceanography, Plants, Astronomy, Underwater Creatures, Flying Creatures, Land Creatures, Humans, Health, Matter, Motion and more.

As I stated earlier in this review, I love the hands-on activities that are sprinkled in this curriculum. You can choose to do them or skip them. That’s just one of the reasons that we were attracted to this curriculum. Butterfly, (as our daughter is affectionately known as on the blog) who’s 11 years old, is the student using this curriculum. I often found her doing a weeks worth of videos and workbook lessons in one day. The suggested use for this complete curriculum is 35 weeks and one lesson per day, however, you can tailor it to fit any schedule.

As a parent, I was pleased with the scripture at the top of each lesson in the student workbook. I encouraged her to look up the verse in her bible and read the surrounding verses. I appreciate that this science curriculum shows the foundation of science as we know it with the word of our Creator.

After we complete Introductory Science we can’t wait to try their other courses; Biology, Life Science, and Creation Science. For more information on all the products Science Shepherd offers you can go directly to their site by clicking here.
