No Mess Art with Solid Tempera Paint

We have a slight addiction to art supplies in this household. But I have a confession to make, sometimes the thought of ALL the MESS that comes with creating totally bums me out. We have reviewed The Pencil Grip, Inc. products in the past and were more than thrilled to have the opportunity to review and create with their Thin Stix 6pk of Classic Colors  again.

First I want to tell you why I think you NEED Kwik Stix and Thin Stix.

We all know how children of ALL ages (adults included) love to paint, but we don’t always have the time or want to clean up the mess painting makes. This is where Thin Stix comes in and saves the day!

Kwik Stix and Thin Stix are solid tempera paint that come in the form of a tube. Sort of like a glue stick…. with a cap! Did you catch that?… A cap! As in a lid… when you’re done you just put the lid on them, put them back, and go about your day.
They are available in 6, 12, and 24 packs of assorted colors, including neon and metalix colors. They dry in 90 seconds and are non-toxic and safe for even the youngest artists. These Thin Stix work on paper, poster board, canvas, cardboard, wood, balloons, and just about anything else you can think of.

Thin Stix are a bit thinner and taller than the original Kwik Stix. Kwik Stix are great for painting a larger area and with Thin Stix you can create with finer detail.

Here’s what our artists have to say about them.

The 12 Year Old:
~ they aren’t a huge mess
~it’s an easier way to paint
~you can “paint” on just about anything

The 10 Year Old:
~they’re not messy – I don’t like paint all over myself {he doesn’t like certain textures and traditional paint is one of them!}
~they come in different sizes
~they dry quick – I like the fact that I don’t have to wait for my creation to dry.

The 9 Year Old:
~they’re easy to paint with
~they’re super fun – like “drawing” with paint
~love all the colors

Here’s Mom’s take:
~no mess to clean up
~no paintbrushes to wash out
~no water cups to fill and spill
~they are very smooth and cover evenly
~you can take them on the go! Take learning and art outdoors!

No Mess Art - Solid Tempera Paint

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, we have done a few reviews of these amazing Thin Stix in the past. We have painted on paper, took our art lessons on the go to the park and did some Nature Journaling, painted on balloons and practiced sight words on balloons, painted on canvas, made place mats, practiced cursive letters, and more.

This time we decided to do a Spring project and “paint” terracotta pots and plant flowers in them. The kids had a blast and I think they came out so cute. They had so much fun, they want to create a flower pot garden in our yard! I’m thinking that would be a fantastic (and colorful) idea!

Now, where can you get these?

Amazon offers such a wide selection of the different colors and quantities. The price is amazing for such a wonderful product.

It’s your turn! What will you make?
